Dear Representative,
I request that my representatives in Congress revise federal law to allow state or federal governments to design ethically responsible and regulated organ donor compensation programs. Such programs would offer meaningful indirect financial incentives to families who agree to donate the organs of a family member who has died ("deceased donation") or to individuals' estates if they agree to donate at death. To increase living donation, compensation programs would offer significant indirect financial incentives to be given to anyone who is willing to donate his or her kidney to a stranger.
