Accessibility Statement

The Alliance for Organ Donor Incentives sees great importance in making its website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We have invested effort and resources so that the site is easy to use and navigate.

Accessibility level

The site was adapted in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA. Our goal is to meet WCAG 2.1 at level AA.

What we did

• Pages are built with clear structure: headings, lists, landmarks and a logical reading order, so screen readers can follow them.
• The whole site can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, and a "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page.
• Images that carry information have text alternatives (alt text); decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Text and background colors were chosen for sufficient contrast.
• The site adapts to phones, tablets and computers, and can be zoomed up to 200% without losing content.
• Animations respect the "reduce motion" setting of your device and can be stopped from the accessibility menu.
• Each language is marked correctly, and Hebrew pages are displayed right-to-left.
• An accessibility menu (the round button at the bottom corner of the screen) lets you enlarge text, increase line spacing, switch to a readable font, change contrast, highlight links and headings, enlarge the cursor and stop animations.
• Form fields have visible labels and clear error messages.

The accessibility menu is an extra aid. It does not replace the accessible design of the site itself, and it is not a substitute for the assistive technology you already use.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:

• The article library includes 38 PDF files of older publications. Many are scanned images without a text layer, and most are not tagged for screen readers. If you need an article in an accessible format, please contact us.
• The articles are shown in the language they were published in (mostly English). On the Hebrew site, article titles, author names and the sample letter to Congress appear in English, because they are original publications or are sent to the US Congress in English.
• Links to other websites (news outlets, research journals, PayPal, house.gov and senate.gov) lead to pages we do not control, and their accessibility may vary.

• Assistive technology: Keyboard-only navigation, Automated checks with axe-core (WCAG 2.1 A/AA rules), in English and Hebrew
